The Ministry of Health plans to incease ins
pection of all private and public nursing homes in Barbados.
Minister of Health, Donville Inniss made the announcement at a seminar on Community and Home Base Care at the Pan American Health Organization offices yesterday.
Noting that the ministry had a duty to license and inspect facilities and investigate complaints regarding the quality and care of the facilities,Inniss said it was an area that needed to be strengthened.
He added that it would necessitate a restructuring of the elderly care services to bring all the Government owned care facilities under one management.
