Georgetown- Synergy Holdings and it's proprietor Flip Motilall continue to make headlines after the press during the last year had a field day with the company and it's alleged failed commitments. Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon told the media that Government is upset with the pace at which Synergy Holdings is going in constructing the road to Amaila Falls. His direct words were; "Flip Motilall is hopelessly behind". The Administration explained that it was suggested that the company contract out components of the project since it is apparent that his company is unable to meet deadlines and even handle the project in it's entirety. The Amaila site is located on the Kuribrong River, a tributary of the Potaro River in West Central Guyana. The nearest point of access is the airstrip at Kaieteur Falls on the Potaro River, approximately 15 miles to the south. According to official tender documents, the breakdown of the project awarded to Synergy Holdings Inc states that the upgrade of 89km of road will cost US$3.9M; the 110km of virgin roadway, US $7M, the two pontoon crossings or a bridge will be US$1.5M and ‘T’ line clearing is said to be US$3M. Dr Luncheon said that there are severe penalties for breaching the terms of the contract.
