Despite a cut in the funds allowcated to the Ministry of Education in the 2013 estimates, government will maintain its focus on educating Barbadians.
This assurance came from Minister of Education, Ronald Jones, as he addressed the latest batch of graduates from the Erdiston Teachers Training College recently.
Mr. Jones expressed pleasure at the number of teachers who graduated with distinctions.
With a significant number of young people in the graduating class, Mr. Jones is hoping many will remain in the teaching profession for years to come.
He is also encouraging them to stay on the cutting edge of knowledge as today's students are not like those of yesteryear.
The most outstanding student and class valedictorian was Kamille Benjamin.
