The Government of Barbados is willing to work with low cost carrier Redjet says Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy, the airline suspended all of it flights unti further notice over the weekend because of financial problems and the need for Government assistance.
Sealy told Trakker News:It is my sincere hope that everything can be sorted and they can resume operations as soon as possible, perferably along the lines of joint marketing as opposed to any revenue guarantee agrrangement".
He added that the low cost airline was a very good initiative and it was his hope that from a development point and tourism of view that it will be back in the air soon.
Stranded passengers are demanding that Redjet refund their money, chief executive office of the airline. Ian Burns has apologized to passengers , in a press statement. Burns said the airline which services nine regional destinations could not longer continue to provide afordable air transport across the region.
Burns said the carrier which employs 90 people was hoping for a small part pt the state assistance other airlines receive.
The company is expected to make further annoucement tomorrow.
