Gov’t terminates Housing Authority CEO’s contract

Georgetown: The contract of Chief Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) Lelon Saul was terminated on Tuesday.

Saul received his letter from the Ministry of Housing on Tuesday with one month’s notice. But, with one month acquired leave, the CEO vacated his office.

He was appointed to the post in March 2017 by former Minister of Communities Ronald Bulkan.

Saul joined the Central Housing and Planning Authority in 2017 after working for a number of years with the local office of the United Nations Development Programme.

He also served in the Guyana Defence Force where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
