Georgetown: The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is expected to commence the new motor vehicle registration “TT” series shortly. Commissioner General of the GRA Mr. Khurshid Sattaur, in his capacity as Chief Licencing Officer has given approval for the new series to commence.
The current ‘SS’ motor vehicle registration Series officially commenced on November 25, 2013. The new “TT” registration series will affect privately registered vehicle, Busses, trailers, and Good Vehicles including Vans and Lorries. A Motor Vehicle Registration Series elapses after nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine (9999) vehicles have been registered by the LRO.
Motor vehicle owners are reminded that the Motor Vehicle Licence is valid until the Registration anniversary of the vehicle. As such, licence must be renewed every year on or before the anniversary of the vehicle’s registration. Vehicles that are now being registered or vehicles which had updates made to their registration, for example, transfer of ownership, change of colour, change of intended use, etc must be physically examined by the Licence Revenue Office of the GRA. All registration and change of motor vehicle registration are being done at GRA’s Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, South Cummingsburg, between Middle and Quamina Streets, while vehicles will be examined at the Smyth Street Office or any GRA Regional Branch Office.
