Green economy for Barbados

Bridgetown.

Minister of Housing and Lands, Michael Lashley, says every Barbadians has a role to play in the greening of the country.

Lashley is suggesting the new homeowners, should think about incorporating green initiatives into their design and financing plans.

Speaking at a home expo over the weekend, the minister said a focus on this type of technology can also provide avenues for local entrepreneurs to emerge in this area.

"Barbados is a world leader in the dvelopment of solar technology. The use of solar waterheaters has spearheaded the movement towards greener  solutions to improve our quality of live.Indeed our solar waterheater industry has been identified by the United Nations Environmental Programme as a global best practice on the green economy", he said.
