Georgetown : The Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) supports the move by Mr. Robert Corbin, Leader of the Opposition, to have the court adjudicate the legality of the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC). This matter borders on rights and the rule of law and has implications for governance and society, the union stated.
On May 23rd last, Mr. Corbin filed an action in the High Court naming the Attorney General, Bishop Juan Edghill, John Willems and Carvil Duncan from holding themselves out as Chairman and members of the Constitutional Commission known as the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC
) .
