Guyana Amazon Warriors led by Ramnaresh Sarwan won the first semi final of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League when they defeated Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel at the Queen Park Oval last night.
Sarwan won the toss and chose to bowl first, opening bowlers Krishmar Santokie and Tillarakaratne Dilshan immediately had the Dwayne Bravo led Red Steel under pressure.
Dilshan dismissed Kevin O'Brien in the second over, while Santokie's slower delivery had Mahela Jayawardene lob a simple catch to Ramnaresh Sarwan at cover. They conceded 32 runs between them in 7.3 overs and took four wickets.
The Red Steel were dismissed for 103 al 19.3 over with Santokie, Dilshan, Lasith Malinga and Veersammany Permaul each taking two wickets.
Set a target of 104, the Amazon Warriors made 107 for the lost of 3 wickets. Dilshan top scoring with 39.
Dilshan was the Man of the Match.
