Georgetown– Representatives of the Governments of Guyana and Venezuela will meet at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday to discuss a Draft Agreement on Cooperation in the Combating of Illicit Trafficking and use of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Chemical Precursors, as well as related offences. The Minister of Home Affairs will Head the Guyanese delegation which will include officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and member agencies of the Task Force on Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Weapons. The Venezuelan delegation comprises Government Officials from Caracas, the Venezuelan Ambassador to Guyana and members of the Embassy staff.
Participants of the meeting will also take the opportunity to exchange views on a number of related issues.
