Georgetown: Guyana and Barbados have agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, following a meeting held between President David Granger and Barbados’s Prime Minister Mia Mottley on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, on the margins of the 39th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
The talks between the two leaders focused on energy, economic, environmental and regional security as well as investment opportunities in both countries. A number of practical steps were discussed as a means of strengthening bilateral relations.
President Granger was accompanied to the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Audrey Waddell and Head of the CARICOM Desk of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Charlene Phoenix.
