The latest results released by GECOM shows that the PPP/C is approaching a 50% of the verified votes for the Guyana General Election 2011.
The APNU has so far garnered 39% of the verified votes, whilst the AFC is hold steady at 10%.
The overall seat projections with 63% of the votes verified is PPP/C 33 seats, APNU 25 seats and AFC 7 seats. TUF is trailing with less than .002 % of the total votes verified.
At the call of the 2011 elections, The National Assemble had 69 members of which the PPP/C had 40 seats, The PNC/R had 22 seats, AFC had 5 seats, GAP had 1 member and TUF 1. Note that TUF was part of the government.
The ruling party is allowed to appoint 4 non elected ministers/parliamentary secretaries making the compliment of the house 69 rather than the elected 65.
