Georgetown: The Guyana Public Service Co-operative Credit Union (GPSCCU) on recently launched its annual Christmas promotion, dubbing this year’s promotion, “Eco Friendly Christmas.”
The promotion which will be announced on December 16 will see one lucky member of the Credit Union driving away with a brand-new electric car, while ten other members will ride away with one electric motorcycle each.
Speaking during the launch of the promotion Chairman of the Credit Union Management Committee, Trevor Benn, explained that the rationale behind this year’s promotion is in keeping with the “clean energy” direction the world is moving into.
“We feel that it is important to be the driving force here in Guyana and since our members are very very happy to work with us with our vehicle loan programme, we felt that this is an opportunity to introduce them to the electronic car,” Mr. Benn said.
The Chairman said the organization has been progressing and strategic in its thinking. Mr. Benn is adamant that electronic vehicles are better for the environment.
Finance Manager of the Credit Union, Judah Louisy said the organization’s eco-Christmas promotion is a step in the direction. He said the promotion will also seek to educate citizens on clean energy.
