Georgetown- In the wake of revelations by Government to employ overseas teachers, the Guyana Teacher's Union during a recent press conference said that efforts will be made to ensure that it's members are not given a raw deal. Taking a serious stand in the face of this move, the GTU president Colin Bynoe said; "We will monitor continuously because we have members who will be working with some of them and they will look over. They will monitor to know whether they are showing the competence and what qualifications they show; we will check to see if we are getting mileage for our money…” Bynoe added that it's members must be protected by the policies and systems implemented to hire and pay overseas teachers.
