Guyana to be represented at UN high-level forum

Georgetown – Guyana will be represented at the twenty-sixth session of the Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) from February 21-24.

The event which coincides with the International Year of Forest will be attended by Agriculture Minister with responsibility for Forests, Robert Persaud.

The Council/Forum will hold ministerial-level consultations on emerging policy issues with the overall theme of the contribution of UNEP to the preparatory process for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development to be held in Brazil in 2012.
