Georgetown- The second day following the polls as the country await word from the Guyana Elections Commission on the final results. But as at 6 this morning the preliminary results show the PPP/C leading the polls by almost 5,000 votes. 31 percent of votes were counted and the APNU had an overall total of 63,924 votes and the PPP/C with 68,824 votes. The AFC has 15,824 and the TUF with 484. The total number of votes counted for all 10 regions so far stands at 475,496. Results per region show the PPP/C trending well by this morning. The biggest lead for APNU comes from regions 4 and 10. The rest however shows strong support for the PPP/C.
