In this regard, two staff members recently returned from England, United Kingdom where they pursued a one (1) year Master’s Degree programme at the University of Cranfield.

Ms. Amanda Ramgobind, an Engineer attached to the Design of Infrastructure Department within GWI, pursued a Master in Water and Wastewater Engineering, which saw her being exposed to both theory and practice in areas such as Wastewater Treatment and technology for the removal of contaminants to make water drinkable.

She also prepared a thesis focused on characterizing water from the University’s Campus which saw her collecting samples, testing the water and recommending how it can be utilised as well as the best technology to do so.

According to Ms. Ramgobind, the programme allowed her to better understand Wastewater and its uses as well as the application of relevant treatment technologies.  She hopes to apply her knowledge to convert the Tucville Sewerage station to a Wastewater treatment plant.

She has 11 years of Experience working with GWI and expressed gratitude to Management for affording her the opportunity to further her studies. Ms. Ramgobind also holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
