GWI to spend $850M to enhance water service countrywide

 

 

Georgetown : Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) has commenced work on the massive Government of Guyana funded, G$850 Million “Coastal 2011 Programme” which will involve the construction of five (5) new well stations to boost the service provided to several communities on Guyana’s coast.    

Five thousand (5000) residents from the Essequibo Coast will experience improved levels of service from a new station to be drilled at Onderneeming Scheme Phase 2.  A new station at Hope Lowlands (Hope Estate) will enhance water service for several housing schemes including Clonbrook, Anns Grove and Two Friends.  The project will benefit seven thousand (7000) residents of East Coast Demerara.  

 

A new well station will be constructed at Number 47 Village , Berbice

 

“These water supply infrastructure will include the installation of transmission and distributions mains and service connection upgrades countrywide.
