Bridgetown.
Several cardiology patients who were waiting to have echoardiograms done at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) have had their appointments cancel because the echocardiogram machines at the island major health institution have broken down..
Since last week the QEH have been sending outpatients to private clinics for echoardiograms test which are done at the Cardiac Unit of the QEH.
According to a source, these test are costing patients 100 percent more than what they paid at the QEH.
Scores of Barbadians with heart problems, and who cannot afford the price at private clinics, utilize the echocardiogram machines at the QEH.
