Georgetown : The Ministry of Home Affairs signed a 43 million dollar contract for the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure under the 2011 current and capital projects for the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the Guyana Prison Service (GPS) and the Guyana Fire Service (GFS).
Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee in his address to contractors, at Ministry’s Boardroom, Brickdam said that the public would appreciate the completion of projects within the given timeframes under the contractual agreements.
He noted that the Ministry will not accept any delays in projects, and that liquidation damages will be enforced if deadlines are not met by contractors, as stipulated.
In addition he noted that no extension will be facilitated, and given the changing weather pattern, it is important that contractors take these factors into consideration in their planning.
A total of $65.7 M worth in projects was awarded for the Guyana Police Force, for the construction and rehabilitation of police outposts and stations across the country including Suddie, Springlands, Mahdia and Leguan.
