Three departments at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital were flooded out this morning. Chief executive officer, Dr Dexter James told Trakker News a tap left running over night was responsible.
He said the Accident and Emergency, Ante natal and Haemotology departments were all affected but service is expected to resume by one o' clock.
James said those departments are water logged and have to be sanitized to ensure they are safe for staff and patients.
The CEO stated that in the meantime contingency plans have been put in place.
He is urging that only individuals with genuine emergencies and life threatening cases visit the Accident and Emergency Department to the area to be properly cleaned.
