Hotel owner shoots taxi driver dead

Georgetown: The owner of Tourist Villa Hotel and Bar, 45-year old Erwin Bacchus of 260 ‘B’ Fifth Avenue, Subryanville, Georgetown allegedly shot and killed a taxi driver Saturday moring who ran into the business place behind a handyman who had earlier intervened in altercation between the now dead man and his girlfriend.

Dead is 30-year old Jason De Florimonte of 96 Fifth Avenue, Subryanville. He was killed with a licensed firearm.

Reports indicate that the victim had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend Christine Rambarran, a 24 year old Promoter of Fifth Avenue, Subryanville, Kitty, Georgetown.

As a result Terrance Newsun, a 29 year old handyman of Lot 41 E North Sophia was at the gate of the hotel when he witnessed a commotion between the victim and his girlfriend. He then confronted them which caused the victim to turn his attention to Newsun. The victim then gave chase behind Newsun who ran into the hotel. While in the hotel his attention then turned to the suspect who had his firearm in his possession and shot the Florimonte four times to his right side chest which resulted in his death. The businessman is currently in police custody and the deceased is at at the Georgetown Hospital awaiting post mortem.
