Dominica : A house collapsed in the Yampiece area Tuesday morning.
Owner of the small wooden structure, Jerry Joseph, told DNO that the incident occurred at about 6.30 am. He said he heard a loud noise and felt the house moving, eventually falling on its side, to ground.
Joseph said that at the time of the incident, the house was occupied by him and his five children. He said no one was severely injured but the other five occupants were taken to hospital with minor scratches.
The fire services personnel were on the scene earlier and so were the police.
A large crowd of curious on-lookers had also gathered in the area.
DNO has not received information about the specific cause of the collapse of the house but parts of Dominica including Yampiece, experienced heavy rainfall Monday night.
A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the island, as Tropical Depression NINE, which is expected to become a tropical storm later today, draws nearer.
