A human rights component will be added to the post of the Ombudsman, this was reveal yesterday by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Maxine Mcclean, during an address at the start of a two day seminar of the Commonwealth Secretariat. According to Mcclean, the Ombudsman participated in a three day workshop in Trinidad in March to examine ways in which the national human rights protection system might be strengthened to include human rights protection at the national level.
