Georgetown: The Ministry of Labour Human Services and Social Security and Habitat for Humanity Guyana signed an agreement that will see the construction of a Home for a differently- abled person, Mr. Siddiqi Haniff.
This house model is built three feet from ground level and is a modest 330 – square foot timber and concrete structure, outfitted with two bedrooms, a kitchen sink and electrical wiring and plumbing.
“This is one of the pilot projects that we are jointly undertaking to assist those persons in our society in one way or another, who are differently-abled,” Minister of Human Services and Social Security Jennifer Webster said.
The Human Services Minister explained that her ministry continues to execute its mandate as enshrined in the laws which dictate support to be given to persons who live within the society that are differently abled.
