East Bank Demerara :The police are conducting investigations into the murder of housewife Suscilla Latchman, 38 years of Back Street, Garden of Eden, EBD, which occurred today at her home.
Investigations have revealed that Suscilla Latchman was allegedly involved in an argument with her husband Chitnandan Latchman, 45 years, during which he lit the house afire, chopped her about the body and then is suspected to have drunk a poisonous liquid.
The police responded promptly to the report received and Suscilla Latchman was taken to the Georgetown Hospital where she was pronounced, while Chitnandan Latchman was arrested and has been admitted a patient under guard at the GPHC. The cutlass suspected to have been used in the incident has been recovered by the police.
Personnel from the Guyana Fire Service subsequently extinguished the fire which damaged the two-storey concrete building.
