Jason Pellew, 28 , was placed in the custody of the Immigration Department yesterday.
Pellew pleaded guilty in the District A Magistrates' Court to using disorderly behaviour within the hearing of a 13 year old girl, on Spring Garden on Kadooment Day.
Prosecutor Sergeant Wendell Greenidge, told the court that the girl was at Spring Garden with her grandfather and brother when she left their company to join her friends.
Pellew approached her and asked her for dance , she refused and walked away. He proceeded to follow her and refused to leave her even though she asked other who were around to tell him to stop following her.
The child saw two police officersand made a report to them about Pellew .He wasarrested and charged.
Records from the Immigration Department showed that Pellew came to Barbados on December 21, 2008, and was granted an stay of 30 days. There was no application on file for an extension.
Acting Magistrate Manila Renee, reprimanded and discharged him and placed him ni the custody of the Immigration Department.
