Illegal immigrant Oddesa Natasha Brathwaite was sent back to Guyana after she appeared in the District A Magistrates Court.
The 27 year old cosmetologist , of Belair Village, East Coast , Demerara , admitted that she stole a chain, a bracelet and a necklace worth $1250 , which belonged to Harrisons on Tuesday.
An Immigration officer told the court Brathwaite entered the island on October 3, 2008, and was granted 30 days stay as visitor, since then she has remained illegally without requesting an extension or applying for status.
Magistrate Deborah Holder fined her $1000 forthwith or 12 months in prison. The fine was paid and Brathwaite was escorted from the court by Immigration officers.
