Georgetown: After numerous attempts by the Guyana Power Light (GPL) to curb illegal connections of street lights on utility poles, the power company is seeking the use of use prepaid utility services on poles for this purpose.
Chief Executive Officer of the power company Bharat Dindyal said the power company disconnected a number of street lights due to it not be paid for and its illegal nature.
Dindyal said the technology which comes from Germany is used globally. And the technology is being contemplated for use in Guyana.
