The University of Guyana has postponed the commencement of classes for the upcoming academic year.
The University semester year was supposed to begin on was Monday this has been delayed as a result of significant industrial action during the 2011-2012 academic year.
According to Paulette Paul, the entity’s Public Relations Officer as a result of the strikes and “other factors including the recent release of results by CXC, it was decided to postpone the commencement of the 2012-2013 classes from August 27, 2012, to September 10, 2012.”
The Ceremonial Opening which was scheduled for August 24, 2012 has also been postponed to September 07, 2012.
