General Secretary of the Barbados Workers Union, (BWU) Sir Roy Trotman told Trakker News this afternoon hotel workers in Barbados may get a wage increase this year.
The veteran trade unionist said the BWU was in constant dialogue with the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association before and during the 2011, and a decision was made to place on hold a request for a wage increase once there was a commitment not to lay off workers.
Sir Roy said the BWU was not oblivious to the fact that some hotels were experiencing some difficulty.
