Interior woman died in hit and run accident-motor cyclist later caught

Rupununi : At about 3:30am today, Georgiana Smith, 59 years, of Rupeti, North Rupununi, was walking along the roadway when she was struck down by a motor cycle.

According to a police report the woman received injuries and was taken to the Annai Health Post where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver of the motor cycle fled the scene but was later caught and detained by the police, as the investigations continue.
