Jamaica to investigate former top cop to arrive shortly-Dr. Luncheon

Georgetown : After cabinet’s meeting Tuesday last, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon disclosed that an investigating team from Jamaica that will be supporting the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF’s) Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to assist with investigations into the rape allegations made against Former Police Commissioner, Henry Greene, is expected to arrive in Guyana shortly.

Luncheon pointed out that these external officers along with ranks of the CID will be working in conjunction to ensure the conduct of an objective investigation.
This will see the subsequent conclusion of a report, which will be presented to the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Dr. Luncheon said that this entire procedure is expected to be completed by the end of this month or early next month.
He further explained that if this allegation presented an opportune time for Greene to leave the Force, he would have done so; likewise, if the Administration was of the view that it was time for him to leave, then this opportunity would have been seized to so do.
Since the allegations, made by a 34-year old woman, the Commissioner has proceeded on leave to facilitate the investigations.
