Jamaican cops arrive to probe rape allegations against Top Cop

Georgetown: A team of six Jamaican investigators are here in Guyana and have reportedly started an investigation into allegations of rape levelled against Police Commissioner, Henry Greene.  There are reports that the members of the team have already conducted an interview with the 34-year-old woman who alleged that the Top Cop had raped her in October of last year.

However, Caribbean Trakker understands that the team has not yet made contact with the Commissioner of Police who has since proceeded on leave since the publication of the allegations in the media.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon, at his weekly press briefing Wednesday expressed hope that the international investigators, who have been invited to investigate the allegations of rape, should complete their probe by this month-end.  At that forum too, he said, that the international investigators are expected to work along with local counterparts from the Criminal Investigations Department who have already done some initial work on the matter.
