Georgetown: Police Constable 22834 Clement Cockfield shot his lover before turning the gun on himself, committing suicide at the La Grange Police Station Tuesday night.
Reports indicate that the love-struck policeman shot his female police colleague, Shanice Fraser, four times before shooting himself in the head.
Fraser was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where she was later shuttled to the Georgetown public hospital where she was admitted in a critical state.
It is alleged that the lovers had an argument over another man with whom Fraser was allegedly having a relationship. Constable Cockfield, who recently graduated from the Felix Austin Police Training School, then
drew his service revolver and shot Fraser several times before turning the weapon on himself. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
