Georgetown: Jehovah’s Witnesses are planning for their annual conventions and an accompanying campaign to invite the public to attend. The campaign has already begun with members visiting residents in their respective communities with a personal invitation.
This year’s convention theme is “God’s Word Is Truth!” The Witnesses are launching this series of conventions in Guyana during July 2013 . There will be two conventions in Berbice from 12th- 14th July ,2013 at the Kennard Memorial Turf Club and in Georgetown at the National Park from 19th – 21st July. These conventions are being held around the world. The convention theme this year is significant because it underscores a core family value for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Witness families embrace the Bible as the most trustworthy guide and source of advice in these troubled times. And we feel that the public will likewise benefit from and enjoy the varied and practical program.”
Personal Bible study is a priority for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Each week, Witness families devote an entire evening to Bible study and research, which they call “Family Worship.” The convention this year will provide families and individuals with fresh new resources for family and personal Bible study. This is the ‘something new’ that Witnesses anticipate receiving each year from our convention programs.
Highlights include an intriguing talk entitled “WHAT IS TRUTH” and it will examine why we can trust God’s Word, the Bible. (1) Two dramatic plays will bring Bible stories and their lessons to life. (2) There will be the ordination of new members.
The convention is open to Everyone and there will be no admission charge and no collection will be taken. The program times are: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A complete program Schedule can be seen along with a video about the conventions at www.jw.org.
