Georgetown. : The Joint Services has noted a media report on the allegation being levelled against its ranks involved in a patrol in the community of Agricola on Tuesday last, purportedly, a quantity of jewellery was removed from a home during a serarch on a building for a man who was believed to be armed and who was wanted for a number of robberies.
The chairman of the Joint Services says the Guyana Defence Force were involved in providing security only for this operation and were not inside the home conducting searches. With regard to the allegations against the police ranks, the matter has been brought to the attention of the police force administration and investigations are being conducted by the police office of professional responsibility.
