Journalists upset over appointment at CBC

Bridgetown.

Journalists at the Government owned Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation are upset over the appointment of Michelle Arthur as acting director of news and current affairs.

Arthur, the news editor in charge of assigments is due to replace vetern newsman Arnon Dyal who has been acting in the post since September, after the director Reudon Eversley went on study leave.

Dyal a employee of the CBC for the past 35 years told Trakker News:"I was informed late Friday afternoon that as from today Michelle Arthur will take over as acting director of news and current affairs, I will go back to my substantive post of news editor".

Dyal said  no reason was given for the decision, he noted when he was made acting head of the department, he was told he would act in the post until further notice.

According to a journalists at the CBC will taken industrial action if the management do not reverse the decision to appoint Arthur to act as director of news and current affairs.
