Telecommunications company Karib Cable is rolling out its operations across Barbados.
General Manager of Karib Cable Barbados' operations Oliver Haynes, told Trakker News the company is laying their fibre optic cable infrastructure across the country.
"This is a year and half to a two year roll out project and we are going to cover the entire island, there are people in Barbados who currently cannot get phone service and so they have to use their mobiles. Due to the arrangement we have with the Barbados Light and Power (BL&P) wherever there is an electricity pole, we are laying cable on it", Haynes explained.
According to Haynes several areas in the south of the island have been activated and they are heading north. He noted that there has been an significant investment by the company so far,
"We are doing everthing we can to be very customer responsive, this investment will enhance our opportunity to bring foreign exchange into the country, enhance products and services and bring jobs to Barbadians",says Haynes.
