Columbus International which operates under the brand name FLOW in several Caribbean islands has signed an agreement to take over Karib Cable, the trading name of Kelcom International Limited.
The takeover came eight months after Columbus purchase local telecommuncations company TeleBarbados.
This move by Columbus is the fifth significant transaction and third acquisition entered into or completed by the company in the last 12 months as company continues to scale its operations while transforming the telecommunications landscape and infrastructure in the region.
Karib Cable, who operates a cable system in Antigua, St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Vincent and the Grenadines holds seveal telecoms licences in Barbados and is in the porocess of deploying its network.
"The acquisition of Kelcom marks another important milestone for Columbus as we expand our service footprint to deliver our brand of service across the Caribbean region", said Brendan Paddick, chairman and chief executive officer of Columbus.
