Lawmen singing overtime blues

Bridgetown.

Some members of the Royal Barbados Police Force are upset over the non payment of their overtime claims. A source told Trakker News the lawmen worked overtime with the hope they would been paid in time for Christmas.

"Now we are being told that they are no funds available and we would be paid later, as a result  this has created a problem where sick leave is starting to show, we cannot continue to be treated in this manner", the source said.

He also claimed police officer who provided private security during the Rihanna Loud at Kensington Oval in August were only paid for two hours but were subjected to deductions from their eight hour shift with the explanation it was a normal working period.

The source alledged that the hierachy of the police force was paid as much as $2000  for their service during normal working hours.

Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin told Trakker News , a section of the force had difficulties with pay sheet which got wet. Dottin said the officers should be paid before Christmas.

Dottin added he was not aware of the disparity in payment between the top brass and the lower ranks and will investigate it,
