Lawyer calls for video cameras at police stations

Bridgetown.

President of the Barbados Bar Association, Andrew Pilgrim is calling for video cameras to be installed at all police stations on the island.

Pilgrim told Trakker News that it is time that of Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin and Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite stop talking about improvement inprovements in the Royal Barbados Police Force, and use install the video cameras that have been promised ten years ago to protect the rights of people being held in police custody.

The prominent attorney thinks that once the technology is in place, the bad lawmen in the system will be flushed out.

"The bad policemen in our force will continue to beat and torture suspects until the commissioner insists on the use of the video suits that are rotting at the police stations", says Pilgrim.
