LBI, East Coast Demerara – Factory workers at the La Borne Intention (LBI) sugar estate this morning down tools and stage a protest action after they were informed by management that there will be moved to the Enmore Estate packaging plant.
The move came after Guysuco has decided to close off the the LBI factory. The workers there claimed that they were not notify of such a move and are afraid they will be out of a job soon since they will be working at the packaging plant, amn already overcrowded environment. Most of the workers prefered to be paid off or continue at their present location.
