Leader of Civil Servants Union out of hospital

Bridgetown.

General Secretary of the National Union of Public Workers Dennis Clarke, was released from the Queen Eliizabeth Hospital over the weekend, after being ill with haemorrhagic fever.

Clarke, the leader of the island's Civil Service Union told the press he was delighted to be home but the road to recovery was long.

"It was a difficult period and I am very thankful to those who were there for me. I am still not well so I  am not up to having a large number of visitors", Clarke said.

Roslyn Smith is acting as general secretary of the union.
