Georgetown: Lenovo, the world largest computer manufacturer is aiming to acquire Blackberry and according Guyana’s premier technology company STARR computer, a successful acquisition of Blackberry by Lenovo will be great news for STARR COMPUTER Inc., as well as loyal Blackberry users in Guyana since STARR is a Channel Partners of Lenovo
“For years, Guyana was known as the “Blackberry” country. And, although Blackberry lost its leading world market share over the last few years to Apple, before Samsung took over a dominant role in the market, many individuals still held on to their BlackBerry with hopes.” President of STARR Computer Inc., Michael Mohan disclosed to Trakker News.
He said that channel partners are not only trained to sell Lenovo products but are periodically trained to provide technical and complete business IT solutions. “In Guyana, STARR Tech Squad is required to undergo annual recertification examinations with Lenovo to maintain its Service status for its Lenovo products sold in Guyana. The Lenovo training also ensures that its’ employees maintain the necessary skills to service Lenovo products.”
Mr Mohan asserted that a combination of the core of engineers from Lenovo, IBM and Motorola plus its large cash reserves will definitely resurrect the Blackberry market opportunities. Already, Lenovo is poised to open a new division next April 2015 to reflect the Internet of Things (IoT), a focus on smart devices.
He also revealed that on the world stage, with its current 11,000 Partners, Lenovo recently inherited, via its acquisitions, an additional 3,000 Partners to distribute its full portfolio of products. Most importantly, having manufacturing facilities worldwide to serve its regional distribution channels with a full array of engineers and efficient production plants gives Lenovo the leverage to excel at an exponential level in our region at reduced costs. Lenovo products sold in Guyana are generally manufactured in the US and Mexican facilities with a high level of UL and FCC compliant standards.
