Let Redjet fly says Government MP

Bridgetown.

Government Member of Parliament Hamilton Lashley is calling on the Governments of the region to help low cost carrier Redjet.

"I am calling on the Prime Minister of Barbados to put some money in and let Redjet fly, but not only Prime Minister Stuart, all of the other Prime Ministers, Balwin Spencer of Antigua, Dr Ralph Gonsalves of St Vincent and Kamla Persad Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago. Invest in the poor man airline and let it fly", says Lashley.

The out spoken MP and champion of the poor said, it  wa socially and morally right  for the Governments of the region to give financial assistance to the cash strapped airline.

"What is happening with Redjet out of the air temporarily, i we have gone back to the days when we had to pay exorbitant prices to fly other airlines like Caribbean Airlines (CAL) and LIAT",  Lashley added.

Redjet aburptly suspended all fights 10 days ago after being in operation for just ten months, at that time chief executive officer of the company Ian Burns asked for assistance from the regional Governments.
