Bridgetown.
The management of LIME and officials of the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) are meeting this afternoon to discuss the tele-communication company plans to franchise its retail outlets.
LIME vice president for consumer sales Suzanne Downes, told Trakker News the company is planning to tender for the management of its four outlets.
Downes said, a tender document will be distributed internally to the staff giving them the opportunity to bid first. Over forty workers will be affected, so far there has been no statement from LIME if those employees will be absorbed by the firm or be made redundant, should they decide not to take up the franchise.
According to Downes, the franchise agreement will not affect the relationship between LIME and the customer in respect to the purchase of products, services warranties or refunds.
