A M-16 rifle was found in the rubble following the collapse of a church roof in Bridgetown recently, could be another way used by gangs or people involved in criminal activity to conceal illegal firearms.
This was disclosed to Trakker News by Acting Assistant Comissioner of Police Mark Thompson.
"Over the years criminals have been hiding illegal guns in various places but this is the first time I have heard of a church being used for such activity", Thompson said.
According to Thompson, the Royal Barbados Police Force hve been facing challenges of trying to manage or trace the use of illegal firearms and that lawmen ried to be vigilant in areas know for unlawful activities.
The senior lawman said that lawmen will change their strategies when searching for illegal weapons after this discovery
