Bridgetown.
Commissioner of Police, Darwin Dottin, says that although there is a role for Crime Stoppers in Barbados, most of the information collected tends to be related drugs and not a lot of hard crime is being addressed.
Dottin made this observation at a press conference yesterday, he stated that given the way Crime Stoppers worked, which was to offer a reward to individuals who supplied information on criminal activity, they are fighting an culture issue.
"There is no way that the criminal fraternity in Barbados is going to snitch on each other $5000, and therein lies the weakness of Crime Stoppers", Dottin said.
