Melvin Cumberbatch, 39, of Hopewell, St Andrew, is facing drugs chares after an operation at the Bridgetown Port yesterday.
He is charged with possession; possession with intent to suppy; trafficking and importation of 17.87 kilogrammes of cannabis. Personnel of the Customs Enforcement carried out an operation at the port, where a consignment of coal in three polythene bag onboard a motor vessel was searched and the contraband discovered.
Cumberbatch is expected to appear in the District A Magistrate Court today.
